The Largest AI Data Centers in the World by Power Capacity
Ranked by estimated current IT power in megawatts, using Epoch AI's Frontier Data Centers hub as of September 2026. Only capacity that is already built counts here — planned and under-construction expansions are not mixed in.

Basis and caveats: ranked by estimated current IT power (megawatts of power the facility can already draw for computing equipment) from Epoch AI's Frontier Data Centers hub, as of September 2026. Epoch builds these estimates from satellite imagery, permits, cooling equipment and company disclosures, so they are estimates, and the hub updates roughly monthly — figures and even the order can shift. All ten entries are operational today; sites still being built (for example Microsoft Fairwater Wisconsin's planned 2,263 MW end state, or Meta Hyperion) are ranked only by what is already running. Owners follow Epoch's listings; for some sites the user is Epoch's best estimate rather than a confirmed customer.[1][2][3]
The Top 10
#1
Colossus 2 — 946 MW
Epoch counts Colossus 2 as the largest AI data center on Earth today, hosting roughly 1.1 million H100-equivalents of compute. Its power comes in part from a repurposed energy plant across the state line in Southaven, Mississippi, where 19 natural gas turbines offering more than 500 MW were deployed between late March and early May 2026. Epoch projects it to reach about 1,531 MW by Q1 2027.[2][4]
#2
Anthropic-Amazon New Carlisle — 910 MW
Part of Amazon's Project Rainier, this campus was brought online in October 2025 with roughly 500,000 of Amazon's own Trainium2 chips devoted to Anthropic. Its 32 planned buildings are designed to draw about 2.2 GW from the grid, and Epoch projects 1,925 MW of IT power by 2028. It forgoes external cooling infrastructure in favor of direct air-based cooling.[2][5]
#3
Microsoft Fairwater Atlanta — 636 MW
Microsoft's second Fairwater site began operating in October 2025 and is linked by a dedicated fiber network to its Wisconsin sibling in what the company calls an “AI superfactory.” Because Atlanta's grid is reliable, Microsoft skipped on-site generators and UPS batteries, and the two-story building packs GB200 and GB300 GPUs into liquid-cooled racks.[2][6]
#4
Meta Prometheus — 471 MW
Meta's first gigawatt-class “supercluster” is unusual for its ad hoc construction: a patchwork of weatherproof tents, colocation facilities and conventional buildings spread across the New Albany Business Park. Meta has signed nuclear power deals to feed it, and Epoch projects it to roughly double to about 1,022 MW by 2028. (One Epoch ranking snapshot showed 496 MW; its site page currently reads 471 MW.)[2][7]
#5
Google New Albany — 453 MW
Google's New Albany campus shares a business park with Meta's Prometheus, making that corner of central Ohio one of the densest concentrations of AI computing anywhere. Epoch lists it as running Google's own TPU chips, from the v5e generation up to the newest v7.[2][8]
#6
OpenAI Stargate Abilene — 421 MW
The flagship site of the $500 billion Stargate program, built by Oracle for OpenAI, hosts an estimated 509,000 H100-equivalents. It is the fastest riser among the entries: Epoch projects it to roughly double to about 843 MW by Q4 2026, which would lift it well up this list.[2][9]
#7
Microsoft Fairwater Wisconsin — 369 MW
Microsoft announced on June 23, 2026 that its Mount Pleasant campus is fully operational. Its current 369 MW is just the start: Epoch's projection for the planned expansion is about 2,263 MW by Q2 2028, the largest end state of any site it tracks.[2][6]
#8
Google Pryor (North) — 368 MW
Google has run a data center in Pryor, Mayes County, Oklahoma since 2007. In August 2025 it announced a $9 billion Oklahoma investment that includes expanding the Pryor site, and Epoch now estimates the north campus at 368 MW — just one megawatt behind Fairwater Wisconsin.[2][10]
#9
Colossus 1 — 340 MW
The original Memphis cluster had 100,000 H100 GPUs online by September 2024, built in 122 days, then doubled in 92 days. It now holds a mix of roughly 150,000 H100, 50,000 H200 and 30,000 GB200 GPUs, and Epoch lists Anthropic as its user.[2][4]
#10
Google Columbus — 303 MW
Part of Google's multi-campus central Ohio cluster, the Columbus site runs TPUs across several generations, from v5 to v7. Epoch projects it to grow to about 386 MW by Q3 2027, and Google has announced further data centers in the Columbus area.[2][8]
