Tallest Hotels in North America
Overview
While North America doesn't boast any hotels that are in the top ten or top fifteen lists, it does feature a lot of "historic" hotels. At least half of the tallest hotels in North America are built before 1992, with 6 of the tallest hotels built before World World II. This contrasts starkly with the hotels in Asia and the Middle East, where almost all the tallest hotels are built after 1994.
The Ritz Hotel Tower in New York City is one of the oldest, tallest hotels, standing at 165m and operating since 1926. The others include Hotel Sherry-Netherland (171m, built in 1927), Hotel Pierre (160m, 1930), The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel (191m, 1931), all hailing from New York City. We certainly look forward to these hotels having centennial celebrations in the years 2026 to 2031.
