Production of Passenger Cars (by Country)

OICA. The OICA, or Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers), tracks and represents the global auto industry. Here is a raw summary of the passenger car production for 2017 to 2018 by countries.
Top Region. Asia remains the top region for passenger car production, churning out close to 42.8 million cars in 2018, followed by Europe (18.7 million cars) and North America (5 million cars).
Top Countries. China, Japan and Germany remain the top three respective passenger car producers for 2017-2018.
2018. In 2018, there are close to 71 million passenger cars produced. Out of which, 33% (or 23.5 million passenger cars) are produced in China, 11.7% (or 8.4 million passenger cars) are produced in Japan and 7.2% (or 5.1 million passenger cars) are produced in Germany.
2017. In 2017, there are close to 73 million passenger cars produced. Out of which, 33% (or 24.8 million passenger cars) are produced in China, 11.3% (or 8.3 million passenger cars) are produced in Japan and 7.7% (or 5.6 million passenger cars) are produced in Germany.
