At the end of 2019, there are 35 countries with well-publicized national open data portals in Europe, altogether sharing out 481,137 open datasets. The rise of national open data portals in Europe is driven in part by the European Union open data strategy that seeks to leverage on easy and free access to data to promote innovation and data economy.

1. Czech Republic (134,479 datasets). Czech Republic's national open data portal has published the highest number of datasets in Europe.
