For 2020, we have compiled 1,903 K-pop idols (1,018 male idols and 885 female idols), analyzed their stats and distilled our analyses into 28 bite-sized findings in this post, thanks to the information provided from the various website sources (please see our attribution below).
This is our 2nd year of K-Pop compilation. Yes, we are K-pop trivia junkies . Now, moving on to our findings ..
Part 1: Let's start with Age.

A female K-Pop idol is, on average, 1.3 years younger than a male K-Pop idol.
The average age of a female K-Pop idol is 23.7 years old, with the ages of female idols ranging from 11 to 45 years old. The youngest female K-Pop idol is Youngchae of Coco, who is 11 years old at the time of this post.
In comparison, the average age of a male K-Pop idol is higher, at 25 years old, with ages ranging from 14 to 47 years old. The youngest male K-Pop idol is Junghwan of Treasure, who is 14 years old at the time of this post.

Female K-Pop idols, as a whole, are generally younger than male K-Pop idols.
61.3% of female K-Pop idols are less than 25 years old, compared to 49% of male K-Pop idols.
19 years or below: 13.5% of the female K-Pop idols are 19 years or below, compared to 8.8% for male idols.
20 to 24 years old: 47.8% of the female K-Pop idols are aged between 20 to 24 years old compared to 40.3% for male K-Pop idols.
25 to 29 years old: The male percentage increases - 30.6% of the female idols are aged between 25 to 29 years old, compared to male idols (37.1%).
30 years or above: 8.1% of the female idols are aged 30 years or above, compared to male idols (13.8%).

The Leader of a group is, on average, 3.5 to 4 years older than the Maknae.
Male Group: The average age of the Leader of a male K-Pop group is 26.55 years old. The average age of the Maknae of a male group is 23.07 years old, about 3.5 years younger, on average, than the Leader.
Female Group: The average age of a female K-Pop group Leader is 25.81 years old. The average age of a Maknae in a female group is 21.80 years old, about 4 years younger than the group Leader.

Dancers are generally younger than Rappers or Vocalists.
A non-lead Dancer is, on average, 1 year younger than a non-lead Rapper or Vocalist.
Male Group: In a male group, the average age of a dancer (non-lead) is 24.2 years old, about 1 year younger than the average ages of a non-lead Rapper (25.1 years old) or Vocalist (25.3 years old).
Female Group: Similarly, in a female group, the average age of a dancer (non-lead) is 22 years old, about 1 year younger than that of a non-leader Rapper (23 years old) or Vocalist (23.7 years old).
Part 2: Now, let's look at Heights.

The average height of a male K-Pop idol is 177.5cm.
The heights of male K-Pop idols range from 165cm to 192cm, with the average height at 177.5cm. V of BTS is quite representative of the average male K-Pop idol weight (62kg) and height (178cm).
The tallest male K-Pop idols are Rowoon of SF9 and Uiyeon of GreatGuys, both at 192cm. Following at 190cm, are Taewoo of g.o.d, Hwalchan of GreatGuys, Seoham of KNK, James Lee of Royal Pirates and Lou of VAV.

Most (80%) of the male K-Pop idols are at least 175cm tall.
42% of male K-Pop idols are between 175cm to 179cm in height, with 38% being 180cm or taller. In other words, 80% of male K-Pop idols are at least 175cm tall and 20% are below 175cm of height.

Average height of a female K-Pop idol is 164.7cm.
The heights of female K-Pop idols range from 141cm to 180cm, with the average height at 164.7cm. Ryujin of ITZY is quite representative of the average female K-Pop idol weight (47kg) and height (165cm).
The tallest female K-pop idols are Jinkyung of Unnies at 180cm and Dakyung of Prism at 175cm.

About half (51.2%) of all female K-Pop idols are at least 165cm tall.
51.2% of female K-Pop idols are at least 165cm tall, with 38.2% between 160cm to 164cm. In other words, 89.4% of female K-Pop idols are at least 160cm and 10.6% are below the height of 160cm.
