Countries with the Highest Internet Penetration Rates
Dataset contains 216 data items (see table below).
Worldwide statistics of Internet users as a percentage of population for each country, with Kuwait being the country with the highest Internet penetration rate at 100%, followed by Bermuda (a UK territory at 98.37%), Iceland (98.26%) and Liechtenstein at 98.1. The countries with the lowest percentage of Internet users over population are Eritrea (1.31%), Somalia at 2% and Burundi at 2.66%.
Regionally, Europe has the highest Internet penetration rate, with 47 countries having at least 60% of their populations being able to access the Internet. In contrast, Africa has the lowest Internet penetration rate, with 51out of 54 countries having less than 60% Internet penetration rate and half of the countries in the continent having less than 20% penetration rate.
