:The world population data is based on the 2019 Index of Economic Freedom by the Heritage Foundation. The total world population stands at 7.42 billion people at the time of this study.

The total population of North and South America stands at 993.90 million people (or 13.4% of the world's population). The United States of America is the most populous country in the Americas (third most populous in the world) with a population of 325 million people.

Brazil ranks second most populous at 207 million people. Mexico takes third with a population of 123 million people.
