The world population data is based on the 2019 Index of Economic Freedom by the Heritage Foundation. The total world population stands at 7.42 billion people at the time of this study.

The Asia Pacific is the world's most populous region with 4.16 billion people (or 55.9% of the world's population). China (1.39 billion population) and India (1.316 billion population) retain their status in the billion-population club, making up a staggering 36.4% of the world population.  Indonesia stands at 3rd with a population of 260 million people, making it the largest country (by population) in Southeast Asia.
