Located in Hainan Island, China, the Mulantou Lighthouse, also known as the Hainan Head Light, is the tallest lighthouse in China with a height of 72 meters (237 feet). Built in 1995, the concrete lighthouse overlooks the Qiongzhou Strait and South China Sea with a flash range of 25 nautical miles or 46 kilometers. The Mulantou Lighthouse is only a feet taller than the second tallest lighthouse in China - the Baishamen Lighthouse - which is also located in Hainan island.
