  About Atatürk Dam

Located in Şanlıurfa-Adıyaman, Turkey, Turkey, Atatürk Dam, also known as Karababa Dam, is an embankment dam. It was built in 1990 (32 years since completion).

The installed capacity of Atatürk Dam is 2,400MW. The embankment dam stands 166 meters tall and can impound up to 48.70 billion m3 of water. Its structural volume is 84.50 million m3.
