  About Atatürk Dam

Located in Şanlıurfa-Adıyaman, Turkey, Turkey, Atatürk Dam, also known as Karababa Dam, is an embankment dam. It was built in 1990 (32 years since completion).

The embankment dam stands at a height of 166 meters and impounds up to 48.70 billion m3 of water. Atatürk Dam has a structural volume of 84.50 million m3 and an installed capacity of 2,400MW.
