An Excellence-class cruise ship built by Meyer Turku and poerated by Costa Cruises, Costa Smeralda is the fifth largest cruise ship in the world, as of March 2020. Like the AIDAnova owned by AIDA Cruises (sister brand of Costa Cruises), both Costa Smeralda and AIDAnova are among the first cruise ships to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Costa Smeralda is impressively gigantic, spanning 337 meters in length and 42 meters wide, with a capacity for 5,224 passengers (double occupancy) in 2,612 rooms across 20 decks.
