Completed in 1985, Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam is a 37-year-old arch-gravity dam. It is located in Sayanogorsk, Khakassia, Russia (Europe).

Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam is the tallest arch-gravity dam in the world. The arch-gravity dam stands at a height of 242 meters and impounds up to 31.30 billion m3 of water. Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam has an installed capacity of 6,400MW.
