  About Gordon Dam

Located in South West Tasmania, Australia, Gordon Dam, also known as Gordon River Dam, is an arch dam. It was built in 1978 (44 years since completion).

Gordon Dam impounds the largest reservoir volume in Oceania. The installed capacity of Gordon Dam is 450MW. The arch dam stands 140 meters tall and can impound up to 12.40 billion m3 of water. Its structural volume is 0.15 million m3.
